Welcome to Awaken Church

Awaken Church meets at 4 PM every Sunday in the lower level of Fourth Avenue Christian Church (296 W 4th Ave, Columbus, OH 43201).

Awaken's Sunday service is for anyone who is willing to listen to God's Word and humbly consider what it has to say. Most weekly attenders are maturing Christians, but we aim to make our service accessible for those still on the journey toward faith. Awaken is a church that unapologetically proclaims the truth of the Bible and applies it to everyday life. We don't water down our teaching to appease anyone.

We encourage you to come as you are. Awaken is a very casual church with no dress code. You’ll fit right in whether you’re wearing jeans and a t-shirt or something dressier.

Service starts right at 4 PM, but we encourage people to plan to arrive as early as 3:45 to find a parking spot, get the kids checked in, grab a hot coffee or a cold La Croix, and find a seat.

We have a small lot on the north side of the building for visitors, families with small children, and those with limited mobility. Otherwise, all street parking is free on Sundays, so you should be able to find a spot along Neil Avenue, 4th Avenue, or on one of the adjacent neighborhood streets. We recommend giving yourself plenty of time to park, because the streets can get crowded during downtown events.

Awaken is a growing church with many young families. Parents are welcome to keep their kids with them throughout the service, but we also have Awaken Kids classrooms available. Toddlers can be checked into their classrooms at the beginning of the worship service. Elementary schoolers typically worship with their parents and then go to their classrooms during the message. Middle schoolers and above stay in the adult service the whole time.
