Summer Discipleship Program | Code of Conduct
In general, our expectation is that all participants would conduct themselves “in a manner worthy of the gospel” (Philippians 1:27), and to be “above reproach” (1 Timothy 3:2), so that God will be glorified, and that you would maintain your testimony with those around you.
During the program, you will be living in an assigned SDP house with other participants of the same gender. We ask that you live in the houses with integrity and respect (i.e. it should look exactly the same when you move out as when you move in). In the spirit of being above reproach, SDP also encourages participants to refrain from being alone with the opposite sex in private settings.
Participants are expected to be excellent examples of leadership and work ethic in the work place (Colossians 3:23, 1 Corinthians 13:5). Involuntary termination of employment may result in immediate dismissal from the program.
Drinking under the legal age of 21 is strictly forbidden. Drinking under the legal age limit could result in immediate dismissal from the program. Our confidence is that participants conduct themselves with the highest level of integrity order to maintain good testimony before God and man, and to not be a stumbling block for those around you (1 Corinthians 8:9).
SDP believes that any sexual practices outside of a heterosexual marriage are considered sexual sins (Leviticus 18:22, 20:13); Romans 1:26-27; 1 Corinthians 6:9-10). Any sexual misconduct that the SDP leaders determine to be biblically forbidden may result in immediate dismissal from the program. Examples of such misconduct include, but are not limited to: premarital sex, sexual harassment, homosexual conduct, child molestation, rape, adultery, incest, voyeurism, exhibitionism, and sexual addictions.
The Summer Discipleship Program is committed to maintaining a safe environment in which all individuals treat each other with dignity and respect that is free from all forms of intimidation, exploitation, and harassment, including sexual harassment. SDP is prepared to take action to prevent and correct any violations of this policy. Anyone violating this policy will be subject to discipline including dismissal from the program.
