At Awaken, we're passionate about raising our children to love, worship, and follow Jesus. That's the heart behind Awaken Kids—the children's ministry of Awaken Church.
Awaken Kids is dedicated to helping our children commit their lives to Jesus Christ, reach out to others in serving and sharing the Gospel, explore their faith as they grow in Jesus’ likeness, and worship our Lord. Our ministry serves families from the time their children are born, beginning with care in our Infants’ Nursery and continuing classes through fifth grade.
Awaken Kids meets during Sunday evening services from 6pm to 7:30pm.
What to Expect
Parents and children can check in before the service at the Awaken Kids registration table, located in the back of Awaken's meeting space.
Infants – preschool
Infants and preschool-age children will go directly to their nursery or classroom. The preschool age children will hear a Biblical story, participate in a craft, and have positive social interaction with their peers.
Children who are currently enrolled in grades 1–5 will join their parents in the service for the first worship portion of the evening. They are then released to be taken to their classroom by an Awaken Kids volunteer. The curriculum used for the elementary-age children is focused on walking them through Scripture, chapter by chapter, allowing them to read the Bible and make practical applications to their own lives.
All Awaken Kids volunteers must complete extensive safety training and be screened through an application process that includes an interview with the Awaken Kids Director, three references, and a background check. All volunteers must be members and regular attendees of our services for at least one year.
